Thousand Oaks

A city named after the thousand oaks that once covered the area, Thousand Oaks is a place where nature and a thriving arts and culture scene collide. It also ranks high among the best places in California to live, work, and play. Located in Ventura County, just between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles, Thousand Oaks enjoys plenty of open spaces where approximately 129,000 of its residents can hike, bike, and socialize.

Thousand Oaks was incorporated as a city on October 7, 1964. The Conejo Valley Unified School District (CVUSD), one of the highest rated in the Greater Los Angeles area, serves the city.

Several sporting facilities are located throughout the community, mirroring a locale heavily interested in sports and fitness. The crowning glory of Thousand Oaks, however, is its Civic Arts Plaza, one of the best arts and culture spaces in California.
